BIO SENSORS
IR LED’s Improve Health and Environment Detection for Wearable devices.
Via photoplethysmography (PPG), red light and infrared LED’s can receive date from the environment and measure biometric data including heart rate, blood oxygen, blood pressure and blood sugar level. Adopting the sensing components to wearable devices enables a wider range of applications.
PPG is often obtained by using a pulse oximeter which illuminates the skin and measures changes in light absorption. A conventional pulse oximeter monitors the perfusion of blood to the dermis and subcutaneous tissue of the skin.
The bio-sensor usually includes the IR LED and a Photodiode, Both in a very small package (about2.0x0.8x0.5mm), to help the reduction of the complete application.
ADR offers LED’s for PPG applications in the range of 840-950nm.
