25MM FRAMELESS MOTOR

The MTI-3556 motor serves as a benchmark for high-power-density, small-frame (25mm) integration. From a technical standpoint, its specifications reveal a highly optimized design for high-velocity, low-inertia applications:

  • Torque Density: Despite a total weight of only 25g, the unit achieves a rated torque of 0.032 N.m, driven by a 14-pole radial flux configuration.

  • Velocity Dynamics: A rated speed of 18,875 RPM (maxing at 22,650 RPM) allows for high reduction ratios in robotic joints or high-tip-speed propeller modulation in UAVs.

  • Electrical Efficiency: Operating at 24V with a rated power of 63W, the motor utilizes a low voltage constant (0.75 V/kRPM), necessitating high-frequency switching and precise Field-Oriented Control (FOC) for optimal performance.

Integration and Thermal Management

The "frameless" nature shifts critical mechanical responsibilities to the system designer. Concentricity is the primary challenge; the stator and rotor must be aligned with micron-level precision to maintain a uniform air gap, preventing cogging torque irregularities or mechanical contact.

Thermal dissipation in the MTI-3556 series is purely conductive. Without an internal fan or dedicated housing, the motor utilizes the host structure (typically aluminum or composite) as a heat sink. The insulation resistance (≥50MΩ/500VDC) ensures dielectric stability even under the high thermal loads associated with high-duty-cycle robotics.

For applications in cinematic gimbals, aerospace actuators, and surgical robotics, the MTI-3556 offers a performance ceiling that other motors cannot match. By eliminating redundant mechanical interfaces, designers can achieve superior torque-to-weight ratios and reduced system-level inertia, provided the mechanical housing and thermal paths are engineered to support the core’s high power output.
